David Carson and Nine Inch Nails
Just some cover art I couldn't post on comments...
Thanks for posting more of David Carson's work! It is hard for me to imagine Carson doing Nine Inch Nails album covers, but if they pay you enough. You can definitely see his way of working in the covers. They are so nice to look at, isn't Nine Inch Nails a pretty deep hard rock band? It's as if they juxtaposed their music with the album cover.
NIN/Trent Reznor is one of the most, if not THE most, talented musician of the modern era. If you don't agree with me I'll gladly tap dance all over your face!
I don't think David needed to be payed enough to work with NIN. In fact he told me personally, it was one of his most gratifying projects, to work with Trent Reznor, a true artist. (His words)

Please note that the 'With Teeth' album cover was designed by Rob Sheridan and not David Carson.
NIN aren't a very heavy rock band at all! And David Carson's work has always had a grunge feel!
